i used a d.c. re pop on my 66 and it didn't take much f'n with to get it to fit and look very good imho, i did apply a generous amount of por-15 before i put it in though,
My DC re-pop required me to notch the two top brackets on the support - they hit the inner fenders. I had to weld my fender brackets from my old support onto to re-pop. I had to flip my radiator brackets. That was about it. I just sanded and primed the support and it is getting top coated along with the inner fenders, battery tray, hinge springs etc... tomorrow moring with black and three coats of satin clear. If you go for the DC re-pop keep your old support until the new one is on the truck.
Wyatt. I appreciate how you want your truck to be as it was when you and Grandpa worked on it. I also really dislike other than stock parts and often use a used item instead of a newer one for that reason. The core support deal I am working on is designed with that principle in mind. I will remove all the rust from my original core support and use only that much of the re-pop that I need to replace the rust. Mike will TIG and finish the welds and then I'll have an as original core support as is possible. Only without any rust.

i ended up getting the core support off ebay mentioned earlyer. it was cracked in a small area from rust through but nothing bad. i had to borrow a family friends welder and patched it up. unfortunatly the welder i had was just a little bit too powerful and ended up burning through it. but its patched now. i just need to grind it down cause the lowwer valence wont fit against this giant wad of weld. but after that its being sent out to sand blasters then to the local high school for powder coat.

If you were a member of the Oregon Chapter you could have solved this earlier.............I have 2 "66" core supports, and I'm only 137 miles from you. You are welcome to join our chapter anytime.
FoMoCo says they have one in stock. By the way thats not ford motor co! Just google them and go to their home page and search for 66 f100 core support and you will find it. It is pretty common problem. That is unless you have to have original Ford parts in which case to the salvage yard you go!

I googled FoMoCo, didn't find any business related to parts except Ford Motor Co.
So...who is this FoMoCo? It's not FoMoCo.com or FoMoCo.org.
In fact...in order to use the Ford, Blue Oval, or FoMoCo logo, one must obtain a license from Ford to do so. It's not free.
How many Ford obsolete stores do you see around today?
There are next to none because Ford's lawyers forced all the obsolete parts vendors around 10 years ago to remove the name Ford from their businesses...unless they got a license.
I know of exactly one obsolete parts vendor that still uses Ford as part of their business name.
If this seller claims to have a 1966 support, it's either used, an obsolete NOS original, or C2TZ16138G .. the only support that has been reproduced.
C2TZ16138G does not fit 1965/66 F100/250 2WD's or 1966 F100 4WD's without modifications.

I also have more 66 parts available.
Interested in what this chapter thing is. what is it? and what do you have for 66's? may be in the market for a couple things soon.
