converter drain and fill, help!

im new to fords i know there is a drain plug on my torque converter, 95 ford bronco 302, e4od. i also know it takes 15 to 17 qts to fill the trans and converter was wondering can the fluid be added thru the trans dip stick tube or does the converter have to be pulled and filled. thanks for any help.

If it has a plug it can be refilled through the dipstick tube. Just don't put it all in at once. Dump in 5-6 qts, start the engine, move the gear selector through all the gears, pausing for a moment in each. (may not engage). Turn off the engine dump in another 5-6, then restart, move through gears, then fill untill full.
