Looking to come up with a few ideas, i am installing ride rite air bags in rear and looking at adding a B-D exhaust brake as well. Also looking at putting a quick connect in fornt and rear to use air tools or inflate tires as needed. All equipment is going on my 04 F250 6.0L 4x4 super-cab short bed. I am peicing the kit together, getting bags, and exhaust brake with out air pump, so i can butil my own setup. Dose anyone know of a belt driven air compressor i can install to supply air acc. If not what is a good electric one i can mount under the truck.
2. What size air tank should i use and can fint under the truck somewhere??
Thanks peter
I installed a pair of 380C Viair compressors under my passenger side cab on the outside of the frame rail. Pressure switch is a 125psi(turn on) -150psi(turn off).
Mounted 2 tanks (9+ gals total) under the front portion of the bed outside the frame rails.
Installed 3 quick disconnects (front, back,rt.side) using "thru bulkhead fittings" and a metal bracket. Also 7/8" walking cane tips work great for sealing/protecting the quick disconnects from water and dirt.
System works great for airing up truck and trailer tires, train horns, air bags, and impact wrench for tire changing. I can air up my truck tires from 55psi to 80psi almost as quick as when I use my 5hp/60 gal shop compressor.
