The torque convertor plug. I was planning on draining the pan, the torque converter and flushing the cooler lines when I had it open to do the tugger kit. In the haynes manual it says to use a new plug. Any idea why?
Make sure you have one. I think no all 2001s have 'em. And even if you do, use the Mark Kovalsky flush method -- all you do is pull the cooler return line and let the trans pump do all the work. It's much easier to get all the fluid flushed that way. If you need a link to that procedure, let me know. And if you were not aware, you CAN use Mercon V now, per Ford. They changed the specs on the fluid so it works in our trannys now. I've been running it (in the form of Mobil1 Syn ATF) for over a year -- love it!

If your 01 has a plug reinstal it. No need to get a new one.
Thanks for all the help you guys provided! I got it all finished Friday night and took it for a spin and it all works great! The shifts are better than they were before so I can't wait to get my DP Tuner and see how much more of a difference that will make too. Thanks again!
