Hello all i have a 2001 excursion and it was parked in my garage,I started it and drove it out of the garage and then parked it in the drive way.it stayed like that for a day and a half and now it will not start,it has a 1\4 tank of gas it is at a slight slope.I dont drive it much it will spin over just wont start.checked fuses tried fuel reset, still no luck,it did this once before and i pushed the reset switch and it fixed the problem.tried a jumper wire on the reset harness to by pass switch no luck
You could check the fuel pressure, on the fuel rail there is a plastic cap when removed exposes a schrader valve ( like a tire valve ) and attach a pressure gauge turn the key to the on position and see if you have fuel pressure ( about 40psi) this will tell you if the fuel pump is running, or you can do the same thing without the gauge and just push the valve in with small screwdriver and gas should shoot out at you this will a least tell you you have pressure but not how much.
thank u I actually put the x in neutral and let it roll back to a almost level position, and let it sit for almost 10 minutes, and kind of rocked it back and forth, push the reset button again and it crunk right up?I checked the gauge and i actually had 77 miles to empty,do u think that it might have been out of gas because of the slope it was on?
