I have a 2006 E-350 with the 6.0 PSD. Just turned 38k miles. I've read before on this forum that the stock Ford air filters work just fine. Wonder if this applies to the van also? I'm ready to swap out the filter and want to go with the best effective/freeflowing model.
Also thinking of freeing up the exhaust (eliminating the cats & mufflers) to help the van breathe easier. It's my work van and loaded pretty heavily, not looking for more power but more efficiency.
(live on Kauai where it's pretty warm most of the time).
Also, does anyone run a pyrometer on their diesel van and if so, where can I get one? I've heard that a pyro is almost the single best gauge to have to determine what you're engine is doing.
