What do you think is the best injector cleaner/ additive for these trucks? I have good success with Lucas and Howes in my semis but not sure its quite as effective in these trucks have seen much improvement. Thoughts or suggestions?
I have always used the Redline oil products. Served me well for many years. Almost 190k on the 6.9 when I sold it. Still has the factory injection pump. But I'm trying the Primrose oil 404 at the moment just for fun. There are links to some reports on the 6.0 forum I believe. Standyne seems to be popular along with ash-less 2 stroke oil. I've never run them though.
i have heard a biodiesel mix will clean out the fuel system and help lube the injectors and i think somone posted a chart like a year ago and 2 stroke oil was one of the better additives and it was the cheapest
here it is. Its a PDF.
if you dont have a viewer. Go get FoxIt from Download.com
Way better then adobe. Quick, and unobtrusive to your system. And its freeware!
2 stroke oil is more of a lubricant than cleaner. Bio is both. I have only used Diesel Kleen other than bio and 2 stroke. I can't say I noticed much difference with DK.
i have a question... has anyone used opti-lube xpd? do they like it more or less than other lubes? and anyone have an idea on what the shelf life of these lube addatives are? ive got a bottle of opti-lube and its been siting for about a year now.. it is in a climate controlled room... thanks sorry for the hi-jack
