Ok guys I have my stock exhaust an was wondering weather to go straight pipe with dual exhaust or maybe stacks. Im up in the air about what to do on my exhaust system. Will I get a power gain from this an what other benefits. So what do you guys have an do you like your set up. Thanks for the help in advance.
I have a 5'' straight piped exhaust from MKO and I love it. I am also a big fan of stacks but only on long bed trucks especially if you have a tool box. Yes you willl get some benefits from the exhaust. You "might" increase your fuel mileage, decrease your EGT's and might fill a little in the SOTP meter. If you decide to go without stacks you will really like to ride with the window down to hear the whistle.
Anything more than a single 4-5" exhaust is all about looks rather than performance. So, do what you like, it's your truck. If you like stacks, go for it.

I think putting a good MBRP T-304 single exhaust with the muffler intact is the way to go. I have the banks monster exhaust and it is corroding. I have also tried the muffler delete and do not like the noise and didnt notice any performance increase with out the muffler. I have heard the MBRP T-304 and I think it sounds great compared to my banks 4 inch exhaust. No muffler sounds awful IMHO. Get the T-304 and pay the money you will not regret it. Also the duals look ok but it is more tubing to deal with and I prefer simplicity with the singles. they breath just as good considering a 5 inch exhaust has no improvement over the single 4 inch exh from what I understand so duals shouldnt be any better either.
I have a 4" turbo back into 6" stacks with no muffler. It is very aggresive sounding and you can hear the turbo whistle quite clearly at times. When I shut the truck down you can hear the air from the turbo coming out of the stacks for a good 10-15 seconds.
I have duals on my truck because I like the look, but boy are they a biotch to install. If you get duals, go for MBRP NOT Diamond Eye. I've got a muffler on mine- it sounds nice and aggressive but not obnoxious. You won't gain much power, but it sure sounds good and helps the truck breathe better.
The biggest advantage of bigger/free flowing exhaust is lower EGT's. The sound issue is more of a personal matter. I have the stock exhaust with the muffler removed. I like the way it sounds. Not too loud in the cab, but very loud from outside and to the rear.
Just a plain ol' 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust for me with the straight thru muffler from the kit. I like it and it suits my needs.
I have this same system in Stainless. LOVE IT!! Sounds awesome, not too much drone (something you might be worried about with a straight piped system, especially with stacks). And it's P-LENTY loud when you mash on it...

This is exactly what I have. It is a hair louder in the cab. Better acceleration and sounds way better. Definitely hear more turbo whistle now. I have only run about half a tank of fuel through so far but after the install and an oil change to Schaeffers 9000 I seem to be getting better mileage. I am at about 250 miles and still over half a tank left. This is partially due to the warmer weather I realize but I have not been easy on the go pedal either so...
