'48 exhaust coming off a '73 302
looking for advice for my '48 ford F-1…
I have stock right now coming off the motor. I'm looking for advise on the exhaust down pipe and then complete system suggestions running from the '73 302 that I have in the truck. The stock exhaust set up has driver side facing downward and passenger side pointing straight back. Looking to see what you guys think I need to do in order…
Thanks ahead of time!

Any good exhaust shop should be able to handle the downpipes and duals for you, even coming off the stock (car? truck?) manifolds on your Windsor. You could also step up to some block hugger style headers, like these Sanderson's, for example...

and IIRC, '65-'68 Mustang manifolds fit the 302 in the '48-'52 frame, if the manifolds you're currently running don't work out.
If the engine is a stock smog-era 302 with iron heads, I'd probably suggest running 2" (or 2¼") exhaust pipe to whatever mufflers fit your desired sound - some Smithy's or Porters, or a pair of Thrush turbos, or those chambered Flowmaster things the kids love.

I used an 85 302 engine in my 49 F-1 with stock 65/66 Mustang exhaust manifolds. I found stock 65/66 Mustang down pipes were easy to use with this combination. I made my own exhaust system and ran it out in front of the rear wheels under the running boards. If you use turbo mufflers it won't be too loud either...

if you don't want to use headers, there are a number of stock 302 manifolds that will fit the engine. I used the stock manifolds from 76 mustang II just because that is what I had laying around from the donor car that supplied IFS, engine, trans and wiring harness. walk thru a junk yard to get some ideas and then you can either buy them from junkyard or find replacements on line
