need some help again.....

now before i get shunned my buddy just dropped at 350 gm crate motor in his k5 blazer and its not getting fuel but the pump is running and it was working when we removed the last engine (this is the 3rd) we think that it might be since it was sitting with the lines off for so long the fuel drained all the way down and figured if we top the tank off it will catch and be fine if ya got and 2sence its very much appreciated

The pump should self prime so I would have thought if there was gas covering the fuel pickup it should have been OK. If the pump runs all the time with the ign. on then either there is no gas in the tank or the plastic gears in the pump are bad.
However i am no expert and maybe someone else will chime in.
