Dell computer dead?
Howdy! I know I should be asking a computer forum this, but I figure "who's better than FTE?" So here goes. My Dell dimension 2350 has a new trick... you power it up and it powers back down, then starts back up, then powers down again. It does this over and over until you pull the plug. It started doing this when my son tried to put in a larger hard drive last night. We put the old hard drive back in and it acts the same. We tried a different power supply -only had the mother board connected and it did the same thing. I'm thinking we loosened / damaged some heat sensor and it thinks it's overheating right away. Any ideas? Thanks!

You may have moved the Heat sink that sits on top of the CPU or the clips broke.. These are notorious for breaking.. In fact I have the page bookmarked as I have bought a few to repiar customer PC's.
8T065 - Heatsink Retention Module
If the heat sink is not sitting down tight agains the CPU it will overheat and randomly shut down..
