Will ICP kill truck?
Thanks and sorry if pissed anyone off. Trucks been sitting for 3 days now with not much help.
I was told on here to get a scanner from (any ol place) and when i did and got nothing, i was told by the same people on here that just any scanner wont do.
Where are all the guys who accually help on here?
Now which is the IPR, i think i got the ICP (unpluged it and tried to start and got the same)
Sorry for the confusion im just getting frustrated

This is still the best site in the world!!!
have you checked the nut on the back of the ipr? they can come loose and cause all sorts of fun issues.here is the ipr location, the first pic is a broad view and the second is zoomed in to give you the exact location.
while it is almost starting does it smoke from the tailpipe? if the ipr nut is not loose and you have sufficient fuel pressure then it sounds like a high pressure oil concern. we need more info and if the above checks are all ok then you will most likely need a good scan tool to do further diagnosis
Joe i checked the IPR plug its pluged in good but where the plugin and IPR meet its loose.
Not the IPR itself.
I wiggled it around alittle got in turned the key gave it alot of fuel and it turned over but, was idling real rough.
Would this be a bad IPR? and if so how the heck do you get in there to change it out?
Kevin, yes ive checked all the fuses inside and out, all look good. I replaced #22 just to be safe.
Thanks guys i feel like im getting somewhere!!

I can now get it to turn over, but like i said rough idle and very little power.
Also. no white smoke Joe
Before when it would not start there was a very small amout of white smoke but very very little.

Bad IPR?
at this point i think you are going to need a scanner. repeated no starts accompanied by no power when it does start. sounds liek no fuel or no hgh pressure oil. you are going to need to get some live PID data to see what kind of percentages the pcm is commanding out of the icp system. the only other thing i can think kof at the moment is to check fuel pressure while its running and try unplugging the icp while it is running.
Now with the truck running and me giving it fuel there is white smoke
I tried unplugging the ICP while running actually sounded a little worse.
Tried using a tire gauge to check fuel pressure and my gauge is crap, wont do anything.
Should i have it towed somewhere and have them test it?
If oil level is good, it might be worth it to have the truck towed somewhere to have the fuel pressure checked and codes pulled. Sounds like the previous responses have covered the basics. Without the codes, we're shooting in the dark, now.
Fuel filter isn't plugged, is it?
When my top enigine wire harness stated going bad in a spot last summer it was acting simmular to how it is now. And when i checked the codes then it was reading nothing form what i remember, the that was helping me said he though it was the IDM before i found the melted spot in the wine harness.
I found a harness on ebay for $200 which is just over 100 less than the dealer here.
Just hate to spend the money if that dont fix it.
