Haha. Yeaah. He's just stretching it out. Most of those 18 pages are just us BSing. :P
Edit: And I bet we'll hit 30 pages before its done! Hahaha.
yeah and whos doing the BSing...oh i dont know...hmmmmmm i wonder...LOL
theres probably only a page or two worth of useful info on here HAHAHAHHA
and unless you can come up with another 12 pages by tomorrow night i dont think so bud...wait i shouldnt say that you might do it just cause LOL dont wanna give guys like you any ideas
note: for those looking to do SAS, if you make a thread for it before you start, dont let prozon know, he will make you look bad too with 18 pages of chit chat HAHAHA hes like a 4 year old "are we done yet? are we done yet? are we done yet?" LOL just kidding man if it wasnt for you guys making me laugh ida probably committed a mass murder/suicide by now
...if you really MUST know yes it is DONE!...has a bug i have to work out though. but it drives turns and the front axle was completely hanging with no binding of the trac bar...the bug is the fact the i F'd myself somewhere and messed up a measurement so the axle is still roughly 3/4 inch off center...my solution, cut one end of the trac bar off, drill it, thread it and install a properly sized heim joint, i will call and see if that is legal if not ill wait till after the inspection, otherwise i do that tuesday before i take it to the shop
anyway if i talk anymore someone on here will shoot me...pics or it didnt happen LOL
it is in my interest to add some beef to my trac bar bracket, that is a bad pic, looks better in life and will look better once i clean and paint it
well that was one hell of a SAS eh...but the best feeling in the world was driving that bitch outta the shop tonight...i wanna do another one...in less that 6 months next time
a big thank you to all of you who helped me out and followed the build...you guys have more patients than i do
Rear seems to sit a little high. You used 4'' front springs for your year truck and not the 70's, right? Do you happen to know the measurement of the spring compressed the way it sits? And would anyone know what their lift springs measure in a late 70's truck?
i kept the rake for hauing loads and what not...the front is lifted with 4" 78/79 coils and the rear is lifted with 6" leafs minus the 2" factory axle block...to use the coils for a 95 with the SAS is a PITA, you have to build a big bulky goofy looking lover spring bucket to make it work but for some reason most people claim they net 5" at least overall lift with a SAS using 4" 78 coils and it looks like i have 4" exactly
you also need to consider that approximately 2" has been cut out of the top of the rear fender for rust removal, puts a bit more space between the tire and the fender, this is probably why it looks so much lower in the front
Got a measurement of the coils the way it sits? Just curious cuase I dont even know what I got lol I bought a junk lifted 70's truck that I robbed my whole get up from, My coils measure 20 inches in the truck, I have a buddy that has a 78 that is supposed to have 6 inch coils and his measure 18. Now I dont think I have 8 inch springs cause my 70's buckets are dropped almost 2 inches so its about the same as the stock ones. I know weight plays a part but not 2 inches. I say I have 8 inches of lift but not positive, I just know that it is bigger than a 6 inch ttb lift for these trucks. Not sure if you follow me or not just get the effin measurement and ill have it all figured out lol
