where can i get a code reader not to exspensive though, single dad with two boys liven off of E-4 pay?
Easy. Find a rich gal and marry her
The code readers for these trucks aren't cheap. The best price I've seen is click here You might contact Riffraff Diesel (another sponsor here) and see if he can beat that price.
You can check the turbo wheel for play for no money, you can also try unplugging the MAP sensor and see if that changes anything. A bad MAP sensor might cause these problems and unplugging it will make the PCM assume default levels.
I don't have a picture handy. It's on the passenger side of the motor near the cab. It's got something like a 1/4" rubber hose clamped onto the bottom of it. The sensor itself is mounted to a flat plate and has an electrical plug that's a pain to get off facing the front of the truck.
If that description doesn't work, let me know. I'll either find a picture of it somewhere, or shoot one for you in the AM.
Thanks alot i know what your talking bout, ill let you guys know what the codes say or whatever i come across, you know jet engines and diesel engines are nothing alike lol!
