I have a 2003 F-350 7.3, I pulled the engine as some of you may know put it back in but there is a prob, SES light is on at all times but no codes are stored on the competer, engine will start and run but has no power once it hits 2000 rpm's it cuts out and help would be very apreciated thanks!
Not sure about the particular code readers you mentioned, but AZ will not be able to pull codes. You have codes stored, you just need a reader that will recognize them. I wonder if we have any FTE members anywhere around there with AE that will be able to read codes for ya.
CAN OBD2 Code reader, INNOVA 3100 I also had autozone try to read the codes and nothing
There's your problem. Neither one can read codes off the Powerstrokes. You'll need to get a hold of a scanner that is compatible with our trucks, or take it to the dealership or a diesel repair shop to pull codes.
thanks and on the turbo spool its like it trys but doesnt spool up, it smells like its running rich as well it starts to moke if you try to make it run over 2000 rpms, it ran fine besides the oil leak before i pulled the motor but the light was on then as well, i cleaned all the sensors and sensor plugs with electrical cleaner to see if that was the light problem but its still there and now this.

I called Innova to check on the same scanner and they said that it won't read our codes. If you post, as Lisa stated, where your from there may be a member close to you that can pull them for you.
I had the same thing happen on one of my test drives and The air intake boot for the turbo blew itself off its connection to the intake by the radiator (driver side). It was an interesting experience, but an easy fix. Just cleaned the oil off (light film) and tightened the rings down.
The codes would help, but I can't think of any members out that way that have a code reader. If you think you have a turbo issue, you can pull the intake tube off the turbo and check the wheel for play. A little up and down or side to side is ok as long as it doesn't touch the housing. In and out play means it needs to be rebuilt.
Where does the smells like it's running rich come from? Out the tailpipe or up around the engine? Are you sure you got the up pipes connected back to the turbo properly?
I have checked everything over and over again it comes out the exhaust and its white lookin smoke turbo isnt spoolin, i also thouhgt it was some kind of vacum messed up but cant find a problem gonna try and take it to the stealership i guess and have codes read and go from there.
