rebuilt kit
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Jan-03 AT 10:46 AM (EST)]I'm trying to find the best rebuild kit for my c6. I was looking at both the B&M transkit and the B&M racing overhaul kit. I wan't a nice firm shift, but i also want it to last a long time and hold up to the stresses of 4 wheeling and mud bogging. What is the difference between the transkit and the racing overhaul kit? Are there any other good rebuild kits around? Also, when i do the rebuild, should i go ahead and buy a new torque converter or keep the original one. the tranny has about 220,000 miles of wear now.

rebuilt kit
I dont know about B&M, but Transtar makes a good rebuild kit, but it does not come with a shift kit. Reasonably priced, though. Also, definitely get a new or rebuilt converter if the old one has that many miles.
