Little baastards stole all my tools for the 2nd time while at home depot in Livermore.Locked truck an all but that didn`t stop them from grabbing my saws, compressors, guns and such. Hope they overdose on the drugs they sell em for or at least cut theyr`e flippin arm off. These tools put food on my family table not powder on a mirror.
I`m done ventin now
Im sorry you went through that.
I feel it is going to get worse with the economy. Not all will go to drugs I think we will see more theft for food and rent money.
I know it may be salt in your hurting wound but will your auto insurance cover anything? Did the Home Depot cameras catch anything?
Nah , they have this big display of trees an shrubs in the lot and guess who parked next to it to grab shade. Me. Also blocking cameras view.I canceled the theft rider about 2 mos. ago as I`m stretching all my $ as it is slow (economy).Wish now that I hadn`t but hey I also wish I invented plastic or invested in certain stocks more.Whats that about hindsight
Home Depots seem to be the place to get your stuff ripped off. In the area I live in, many businesses have signs posted at the entrances warning people of the epidemic of theft from vehicles.....tools, phones, Ipods, GPS units, etc. I've seen many work trucks and vans with one guy waiting inside while his partner does the shopping.
I wonder how helpful HD management would be even IF they had something on camera. They'd probably give you nothing without the police asking for it and we all know how the police treat the theft of personal property....take a number and wait please.
Sorry for the loss of your stuff. What makes me even sorrier is that there is a market for stolen goods....look on craigslist and in the local pawn shops, maybe you'll get lucky and find someone trying to offload your stuff cheap.
You almost have to have a hardened steel chain and heavy lock on everything now. I would like to see a van that had 3 guys with baseball bats in it instead of tools and when the crook pops open the door they will pop open his skull. Once while inside of a restuarant thieves almost had the side pockets of my truck open which contained several thousand in tools. I guess i came out before they got in.
Keep an eye on Craigslist, thats were they will end up. That or the pawn shops. If you see your stuff on CL, and you know its yours for certain, call the Sheriffs dept.
Calling the cops MIGHT get your stuff back if you find it on craigslist ,but the cops around here seem to say "well what do you want us to do ? We didnt see them take it?" If they dont see it happin they dont want to mess with it.
