I find it terribly maddening to have your home (area) 'invaded'. I hope you have insurance. That won't cure the problem, but, it'll help get your tools back.

Due to vandalism to my home (we won't go there), I am looking into small, easily hidden video cameras.
These cameras will be either hard-wired to a monitoring set-up (that I'm still looking into), or wireless.

The poh-leese (sorry) can't or won't attempt to catch these miscreants.

I, for one, am fed up with the criminal element in my neighborhood.

To paraphrase Ralph Cramden, "One of these days. . . right to the moon!"

Security cameras are becoming a necessity throughout the US..

It is the only way to actually know what happened and who did it..

If you have a good enough photo then the police will act..

I have no tolerance for thieves; sorry for your loss. Last weekend I went out to my truck and found a guy laying underneath it, and 3 guys standing around the front of it. No idea what they were trying to do, but I can guess. I must have got there before anything happened.

It's getting ridiculous. I just read on another forum about a guy who had the underground power cable to his barn stolen! They broke into the barn to cut the cable, then hooked up a truck to other end, and pulled 450' of heavy wire OUT OF THE GROUND!! They drove down the road a mile before rolling it up, destroying bushes and mailboxes in their path.

That stinks! It is why I have my tools insured for $15,000. Between the dog, guns, alarm, and neighbors, not likely, but, you never know. I do have my garage covered by a wireless PIR so they do not have much time to grab anything much other then a compressor and floor jacks.

Did they kick in a door panel? Doesn't hurt to run light flat alum. across the bottom panels so they can't crawl through.

> pulled 450' of heavy wire OUT OF THE GROUND!!

I believe in TX if a neighbor caught them doing that they could be legally shot. To do that to a someone's barn, that is like killing all their livestock or something.
