Greetings everyone. Here is my scenario and I am looking for advice.
1999a F250 stock but added gauges from Diesel Manor. Starting in January every so ofter (like 1 out of 5) when I would turn the ignition on the trans temp gauge would make a tiny little jump or quiver and then go back to 0. This is at the first start of the day (not warmed up). After engine start, everything worked fine.
Last Wednesday I dropped off the truck at the local Ford shop for a recall notice. Today I picked up the unit and as soon as I pulled out of the Ford lot and onto the main road, I accelerated up to 40 MPH and my trans temp rose to 190. Stopped at a light, went to around 150. Accelerated up to 55 MPH and went about 220 and then flipped back and forth from 190 to 240.
Just to make sure I checked my tranny fluid and it was OK and drove fine. So my thought is that the gauge is crapped out.
Anything to consider or check or buy a new gauge? It is about 6 to 7 months old.
RC - I just had the same thing happen -Call or e-mail DM - They sent me a whole new amp bo they said that was more than likely the problem. Just got it yesterday. Mine did exact same thing as yours(bouncing erraticaley). Should be in warranty. Mine had a 2 year warranty. I'll let u know after I get the new one installed & see if it fixes it.( they sent me new gauge, sensor & amp box), No charge.
Guitarpicr and RedBoat...just hung up the phone with DM. Talked to David...great guy. He indicated that it was indeed probably the amplifier box which is up under the dash. He did a warrantly replacement request for me and he said that I should receive a new one in about 5 or so days.
He went on to say that it was a very easy switch out and took aruond 5 minutes with a screw driver.
So if you are having this issue, I would give them a ring for sure!!
Mine was bad outta the box. DM contacted isspro and had them send me the whole setup. I've had my gauges installed for about a year. The trans temp gauge does goofy stuff once in a while. I did unplug and clean the connector on the temp sensor. Seems to have settled it down.
I also forgot to put in the first message that when I called, DM said that the warranty had gone from 2 years to 1 year....luckily I was still covered.

I called Diesel Manor and talked to David also but mine was out of warranty .
He gave me Isspro's phone number and I talked to them and the only thing they would do is sell me a new amp box and sender at a discounted rate. Only problem with that is their "discounted" rate was $13 less than getting a whole new assy from Diesel Manor. I guess I need to start saving my lunch money for a new guage.
I had the same issue last spring with my tranny guage. It was like 200 then 150 then went to 100. it was like 15 degrees out so it shouldnt have been hot. So it called Diesel Manor as well. I now have a complete new isspro tranny guage still in the box. What happened was i gigured i would wait for the warmer weather to fix it. But it stopped acting up so i just left it. So it has been good for about a year now until yesterday, it was flipping around like it has a short in it. Good thing we know its just fluky guage and not really the tranny. SO i will prob swap it out soon. But if I had to buy another tranny guage i dont think i would get a isspro. I think i would get a dipricol or something. Jeff

Glad to see it worked out for you. I had a few issues with my ISSPRO pyro from DM. DM just kept throwing parts at me till it was right with no questions asked. Definitely stand behind the stuff they sell. DM and ISSPRO.
