One advantage of the walk thru is that you can get more people inside for rehab or just to get them out of inclement weather.

Neil here in Baltimore County we actually have a dedicated station just for the rehab units. They are a volley station and their members are primarily retired firefighters. They recieved the countys old command post which is really nice for cooling everyone down when they rotate out of the fire. They have a nice setup. One of the volley stations just bought a new squad to replace the old one. The old one was customized with an 8 ton crane. the new onw has a ten ton crane.

Shaun, I am doing pretty good. Just finished eating dinner after running to Lowes to return some things that we got and picked up some 2 1/2" PVC electrical conduit so that I can get it buried for the feed going into my shed that I am in the process of building. This is a carru over from last year.

Sounds like fun Neil. I have had power in my front shed since we put it up many yrs ago now. we had to do some repair work on it last summer. That sucked. Had to repalce some of the sheathing and the sill in a few areas.

That would be nice, but not where I live. If we have a major incident going, we call out the ladies auxilary and they will bring the refreshments and food to the scene. Our current rescue has a fold out awning like a camper does. It has come in handy when it comes to getting some shade in the summer, or staying dry in the rain.

The station that just bought the rescue is one of the only ones in the county set up for heavy rescues. The County owns a cardox unit because of the steel mill. The county got it when they absorbed the former Bethlehem Steel fire department back in the 90s. The county is the only jurisdiction that has it in the baltimore metro area.

It is a fun project. I have been planning this project for about 4 years and decieded to pull the trigger last year in getting it started. Weather did not co-operate last summer and then I had to get busy cutting fire wood for the winter.
I have the foundation piers all done and just a little framing of the floor system. I still need to move 4 10 wheel dump truck loads of fill around so that is why I need to get the conduit in so that I do not need to dig it all back up to bury the pipe.

The county also has one of the E-One boom engines because of the steel mill.

I have been there before Neil. I had to replace the main line from the water meter to the house. That sucked because it was the middle os summer and the ground was rock hard.
