I have not figured it out yeat neil. I found a grounding strap, it goes from the intake manifold to the fire wall. The intake manifold is aluminum, Im under the impression that aluminum is not a very good conducter, but Im not sure where starp should go.

Aluminum is pretty good.
But how about corrosion on the bolts the strap is attached with?
I just kinda glanced at it, yesterday was the first day it hasent rained, and I helped a freind of mine put the trans back in his Passat. Im going take a better look at when I get home from work tommorrow.
This is the rescue for a department that is about 20 minutes from me. If you look at the front bumper on the outside edge on the driver's side, you can see the Q siren. like I said, they are LOUD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
