A new rescue truck for the fire department. I am hoping to see this one set up with all of our extrication equipment (aka jaws of life, rams, porta-power)

ooo pretty.. i wish theyd outfit those newer trucks with the older sirens though... the ones they have around here you cant tell what direction theyre coming from half the time... and the other half of the time you cant even hear them till their right on top of you... old ones you could hear them for quite a distance and tell the direction they were coming from..
You must be talking about the Federal Q siren which is a electro-mechanical siren. Those bad boys are loud, but are expensive. None of our trucks have one on them but you never know with this one
Our rescue is the oldest truck that we have and it is a '84. Parts are getting almost near impossible to get for the chassis.

dunno which one it was... both the firetrucks and ambulances are like that now.. cant hear em till theyre on top of us and cant tell what direction theyre coming from... i remember growing up we could hear them for quite a ways and tell the direction...
This is the rescue for a department that is about 20 minutes from me. If you look at the front bumper on the outside edge on the driver's side, you can see the Q siren. like I said, they are LOUD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
