Again, I'm no expert, but I've never personally seen one. That's not to say they don't exist though. Let the VIN tell the tale. I'M into old JEEPs and never cease to be amazed at finding a new or different variant or part or something.
now that i think of it the top one is not right, it should be a short bed not a long, so it has been changed some how. Bill (NumberDummy) told me that no 4x4 crew came with a long bed so i dont know what is different on it then stock but there is something
Crewcabs yes I think but not regular cabs.
I didnt get out there today but am going tomorrow afternoon for sure.
I want a look at the VIN tag its got me wondering.
Well I bought it.
Im not sure why , but I kinda liked it.
Im a dentsider myself.
$400.00 and it comes with a bunch of parts.
I found a nice woodgrain dash cluster for it in another truck.
Its not a 350 its only a 250 according to the VIN.
So Ill haul it home and try and sell it I think as hes got some other junk there I also want.
I bought a pretty decent 8' camper from him for cheapppppppppp.
I'm kind of surprised no one knew Ford didn't offer a reg. cab long box F-350 4x4 until 1979
Ford did not offer any F350's with 4WD until 1979.
ALL 1953/78 F350's were 2WD.

There were several different 17" wheels: Split rims for tube type tires, non split rims for tubeless tires.
As original, all 1959/72 F100/250 4WD front driving axles were Dana 44's. There were several different versions. No Dana 60 front driving axles were available until 1973.
The hood on this truck has a nose moulding which was used 1970/72. The steering wheel and deluxe woodgrained horn pad were used 1971/72.
The Warranty Plate is located on the left door face below the latch.
It will have the VIN and other codes, but if the left door was ever replaced due to damage, you can bet the VIN on the plate will not match the VIN on the registration.
F250 4WD: The VIN will begin with either F26 or F28 (1972 only).
1968/76 F100/250 4WD: The only V8 available was the 360 2V, VIN engine code (4th digit) Y.
The 240 (VIN code A) & 300 (VIN code B) were also available.
I would have chimed in sooner, but I'm doing research for a book, so I will not be on FTE for 10-15 hours a day as I have been in the past.
Well I hauled it home today.
Its more of a project than I first thought so I think Im going to sell it for $450.00.
The running gear should be worth that and the engine was running last fall.
