I got an aluminum tank out of a1987 F-superduty, I had to move my rear crossmember back a bit and make up some new straps to hold it in place. There were a few other things I had to do to make it work but I had the box off so it was pretty easy.
I plan on having my filler in the wheel well because I didn't want to cut a hole in the box. My truck has a 3 inch body lift so there is plenty of room for a filler.

I was wondering, what are you using for a tank on your bump? I noticed you're removing the in cab tank, like I'm planning. I was thinking of having a tank made from stainless, to go behind the axle in the frame.

    thanks!
