I just completed my hydroboost conversion and I'm having a problem; NO BRAKES! I can put the pedal all the way to the floor easily and theres nothing there. What could the problem be?
I bled the brakes but I will try it again. It has very light resistance and I can easily push it to the floor. I then have to pull it back up to get it to it's usual position
I was wondering about the proportioning valve too.
Also if you have to pull the pedal back up then I'd suspect the hydroboost hydraulic system has air in it somewhere. Not the brake lines. They can be a real pain to bleed.
I'm pretty sure the prop valve is built into our master cylinders.
The thing on the frame is for anti-lock.
To bleed ps, I jack up the front end so both tires are off the ground, then I start the truck and turn it lock to lock over and over and over and...You get the idea.
I went looking for the procedure in all my old books last night and couldn't find it in any Ford manual. I did find it in a GM manual for top kicks though. It says front wheels off the ground, brake pedal down and turn the wheels back and forth with engine off several times first then do it again with the engine running. If I remember right the pedal will start jumping on a big Ford when it's getting close to being bled then you just have to work it some more.
