Brad, If you would--Do post some pics of this truck. kinda perks my interest, thinking about one of these built on a 56 Coe I have, would be nice 4x4 maybe.........
If I keep it, I will be changing the chassis to a F250, and rather than making the front fender look like F-1's (like everyone tells me to) I'm going to cut the rear panel delivery fenders off and extend them outward with F-1 pickup fenders. Then enlarge the rear wheel well opening to match the front. Add some black 22.5" steelie's with chrome bullet caps and bag it. If I didn't have the Airstream I would just leave it alone, but the thing is to much weight for the little 1/2 ton chevy.
Easier thing to do would be to airbag the rear to help with the sag and put in a stronger engine.
I met you and the Good Guys show. I still need to find the time to come out and photo your truck if you don't mind. I want to get all of the detail shots.
Not sure why you think it is not heavy enough to pull your airstream? How much does the airstream weigh? are you using an equalizing hitch? I'm pulling a 7800 # 24' enclosed race car trailer (shaped like a brick!) and car with a GMC 1/2T without any problem. I'll soon be pulling it with my 56 Panel.
