This is so simple I feel stupid for posting it. I just replaced my first headlight bulb on my '04 Expy and was totally amazed that the entire headlight assembly simply pulls out from the truck. I didn't think anything was that easy anymore.
Even though I have not had to replace any of my headlight bulbs on my 98 Exp, I recently had to pull out the entire healight assembly for other reasons and I also was very impressed at how easy it was to remove the entire assembly.
tseekins, did you have to remove a grill piece and what did you have to do to remove it ?
I haven't had to do this on my Exp 04 4x4 yet but it may come up at some point. Thanks

No. If you pop your hood, you'll see two (2) 10mm screws on the top of the head lamp assembly. Remove those. Then look straight down directly behind the assembly and there is another 10mm screw. It's a long one. Remove that one.
You'll have to wiggle the unit loose. There are two alignment pieces on the left and two clips on the right, or reverse if it's the drivers side unit. Just pull it out. Remove the dust cap and the lamp is there.
