Supercab Oddity Sighting
I asked if he did the 4x4 conversion, and he said, "Nope, it's an honest to goodness 77 F250 Supercab 4x4". That caught me as a bit strange, as I was under the impression that they didn't build the SC in a 4x4 configuration in 77, so I asked what engine it had, and he told me it had a 460. I said that I thought only the 2x's had the 460's, and he said that's what he thought too, so he and his dad had the VIN researched, and it's all factory original.
My only remaining theory was that it had to be built waaaaaaaaaaay late in 77, at the beginning of the 78 model year, and he said that I was right. Seems he's got himself an actual bona fide Ford factory mutant on his hands! I thought it was pretty cool, and it's a really straight old truck and with the exception of an exhaust manifold leak, it runs perfect. I didn't have my camera with me, so sorry about no pictures. He lives only about 15 minutes down the road, so I'm sure I'll see it again from time to time.
i would like to see you get the vin number off it, then let someone on here run it, i know it won't have a 460 from factory, you can ask NumberDummy, he will explain, like he has millions of times
get some pictures and the vin number than post it on here
not sure if the guy played you, he might not know these trucks that well and he may have bought it like this, but go down and get some pictures! and vin code for sure!
