DP Tuner questions...
Looking to add tuner and looking @ dp. Not a real gear head and don't need anything crazy. Daily driver light towing (under 6000#). Just looking for some good econ a decent tow and some showing off. Looking at their web site and not real clear as to the part/ model I need. Switching on the fly would be nice too.
I sent an e mail to dp with no response yet. I know they have been out of town and probably catching up. Just wondering if you pros had some info.
Thanks in advance.
You can start with the anything from a 2 postion chip to a 16 position chip. I recomend a 6 position for your application
Position 1 Stock.........This is good for inspections, really heaving towing when you don't need extra timing or fuel.
Position 2 40hp tow.......Good for heaving towing if you need the extra grunt and have gauges
Position 3 80hp econo..... Good for great fuel mileage for daily driving.
Position 4 120 race.....Good for on road playing
Position 5 140 extreme.....Good for you "showing off"
Position 6 Your choice, high idle if you are in a cold climate, smoke lope for showing off, just anything.
For starters I'd ask for their F5 controller, it's a push button switch and is very easy to use. Or you can ask for the rotary **** I think. Those are good too. But the F5 would get my vote. I also think he has more options, but you have to chose those.
Be patient with Jody and Diane, normally they are very quick to respond. If they have not, I'm very certain that they have a valid reason. But don't give up on them, it will be well worth it.
You want at least 8 positions- no start (free), stock (free), high idle, 60 or 80 tow, 100 or 120 for fun, 140 for smoke, high idle for warm up, and if you tow decel tune and drive through for for the drive though? Is that 8? I'm drinking and refuse to count...
