I have and edge EZ chip. Itplugs into the ICP runs back to chip set with variable jumper settings, then runs back the ICP again putting its mod inline. Now after reading some of the mods done w/ resistors and realizing thats essentially what it is, Im concidering the idea of taking it apart and either replacing the resistors w/ different ones or simply loosing the cips it self and setting it up as a quck change housing for the mod as its readily built for it. My question is what settings would you suggest putting in it, ie. what are the most common/ best setting/ mods. and what would I need to assemble to create them. I ve never built or worked w/ stuff like that w/ any serious intentions or in cases where it would matter. So I simply dont want to screw it up. I like the advantage of the remote adjustment housing for as well the ability to quick change remove/ set it back to stock too. Any ideas would be helpful.
Also note it is a 3"x4" x1/2" box with a circuit board in it know that already has resistors of some sort (dont know the values) in it and if it would be easier to simply change out the ones in it. It is setp up with jumpers to change to 3 different settings.
Another thing is this "chip" was referred to as simply a fancy version of this mod, I dont seem to have any real noticable ffect on my truck but from what Ive read bout these mods, if Im right you were saying some trucks simply work better with one setting more than another. Ive had this set on it highest level since I got it based on what you stated would I be right even to concider taking it down 1 or 2 levels and might produce a better effect?
I'd say try all the settings first, and see if you like the results of any of those, before ditching it. Also if your getting a "chip or programmer" you may not need to do any icp resistors.
