Slim to none, you need to check for power, but I honestly can't tell you EXACTLY where to start because every year seems to be different. If I was looking at the truck and the diagrams I could but...
Let's back up then.
How do you know it's building oil pressure?
The tach may or may not move on the diesel, I know on my truck it doesn't but mine is driven off the data bus. I would assume the 01 is similar.
Several things run off the PCM power relay. It comes from 30 amp fuse 24 at the battery junction box (BJB). The easiest to check is the GP relay, it should get 12 volts power to one of the smaller terminals when the key is on (actually both if it's not activated). If this isn't happening, you most likely are not getting PCM power.
The PCM relay is fed through a diode from the ignition switch through 30 amp fuse 30 in the Central Junction box (CJB).
The oil pressure gauge on the the panel works & build up pressure
I was just doing a little testing.. The PCM Diode in the BJB has power.. not sure where to go from there though...
Not to sound stupid, but i'm relatively new to the diesels.. Where is the GPR.. If I recall, is somewhere on the passengers side.. but i have never really looked for it..

after checking further.. fuses #19 & 24 in the BJB are dead.. key on & key off
after testing the PCM power relay..using a diagram F350-6 sent me last nite.. if i put the black probe of my volt meter in pole # 85 (ground) the red in pole # 30 (battery pwer) I get 12 volts.. pole # 86 (voltage, ignition sitch in run/start.. *overlaod protected electronic module*) I get NO reading pole # 87 (fused feed) i get .84 volts ..
Thats ok.. Anybody want an all expense paid trip to beautiful SW Pa.. its sunny & 49 outside today & only going to 36 tonite... the soothing sounds of the Pa Turnpike can be heard while working on my truck.. oh, did I mention free beer???

Here's a pic of the location of the GPR. Sorry it can't be any closer. It's the relay that is closer to the firewall.
