need a new turbo

new truck, old turbo bearings, they wiggle a bit, a little on the uncomfortable side, anyone know who would sell a used one half way decent on the price and maybe take mine in a core?

Most guys here recomend an ebay guy for the stock turbo--I think its ron's turbo shop. I think he also sells rebuild kits. If I had to replace the turbo I would at least look at the d66(since I think it the only drop in one for our OBS trucks) for a little extra oomph and the ability to change injectors latter on.

id love to getg a d66 but i dont have themoney, a guy just offered me one for 250, hopefully its decent.

Its normal to have some side to side play but in and out play is bad. Do the compressor or turbine hit the housings? Rebuild kits are about $100 as well and very easy to rebuild these turbo's

the turbine scratches a little bit if you push on it and wiggle, and the compressor movies in and out, arent rebuild kits just gaskets and what not? i need the whole thrust bearing and stuff right? this would be my first turbo rebuild, where would i get the kit?

Rebuild kits come with the journal bearings and thrust bearings. Problem is once there is any thrust play chances are good that the base plate on the compressor side is junk and another turbo is the best option. Here is a link to the best guy to get parts and stock turbo's from. Top Notch!
