Will it hurt to use an additive as well or just a waste. I can see in the winter time how just the ashless would be fine cuase it has an anti-gel in it, but in the summer using a cetane boost additive may still have a benefit...or is this thinking wrong.
I have been thinking of using 2 stroke oil for a while now and everyone seems to agree it quiets the motor by lubricating the injector oil side. I'm just afraid to mess with a good thing because my egr valve never seems to get dirty when I pull it out for a yearly inspection. I'm afraid it may accumulate crud with 2 stroke oil. Maybe it's my use of the high idle mod that keeps it clean?
I was leary of this myself, but along with the ccv reroute and no idling and running 2 stroke oil for the last 15k miles, my EGR valve was nice and dry and not nearly as dirty as when i pulled it the very first time after 15k miles, no ccv reroute or 2 stroke oil.

Thank you, Im glad it was because I already put it in. I figured I was ok regardless because the TC-W3 rating. No difference yet but that's not saying much, the gas station is only a 1/2 mile from my house.
Just tried it today for the first time. Will see if I can hear a difference, only a couple miles since filling up. BTW, local grocery store has Shell 2-stroke TC-W3 @ 2 quarts for $5, that's $10/gallon!

I heard the difference as I was pulling out of the fuel station. It shouldn't take very long.
Alright I have about 75 miles on it now and WOW what a difference. Idle is much quiter and the injector's you can hardly hear now. The truck seems to really like it. Thanks guys for all your post's.
