I drove a 2022 Maverick Lariat to Beloit yesterday and left if for a 2012 Chevy 3/4 t farm truck and drove it back. The Maverick was nice but I have mixed feelings about whether I’d want one. Nice truck but I’m unsure if it would be the best option for us if I was getting a different vehicle.
I called my brother the joke about driving the typical farm use pickup that hadn’t been cleaned up yet. You know, dirty and dusty inside with various papers etc. In the box the usual grease and fuel stains, a half empty squashed grease gun cartridge, goose neck ball etc. My brother reminded me of the time our dad had a fire in the bed of his pickup. He had a bunch of feed sacks, wire and a battery for an irrigation well motor. You can see what’s coming. He was driving down the road and the wire shorted the battery and the sparks started the feed sacks on fire. He didn’t have any major damage, just embarrassment. 😂

Del, you likely remember that F150 that you and I went to go get up in Waterville? It was an inline 6 cylinder, and only firing on about 2 cylinders. the valve cover gasket was broken, pouring oil right on the exhaust manifold. I was out test driving it after working on it, and smoke started pouring out of the engine compartment. I opened the hood, and a huge ball of flames came up, but then settled back down quickly. With about 5 miles home, I figured it would likely burn up on the road, but I drove it home, and parked it. I nearly lost my eyebrows.

Bought the oil and filter, and transmission fluid to put in my '73. Had to replace a freeze plug that had a pinhole in it, while was at it put a new thermostat in.. Went to Salina this morning to a salvage yard just west of there, to see if by chance I could find that shift linkage rod I was needing. I was able to find it, and a headlight trim ring I was needing. Total cost for both $20

Been awhile since I've posted in here so I finally have an excuse too. Put some quick connectors on the 94 as I'm going on a camping trip soon and need power off the truck. Was pretty easy but had to repair some other things while I was at it along the frame rail so it took all afternoon. Also got some good pics at the end of the day yesterday with the 94.
