try rough country. it's one of our suporters at the top of the page.i priced a 4" lift for my 86 f250, and i beleive it was under 1000$.plus i think you get a discount being a member here. (don't quote me on that).others on this site would know better than me
Oh and while I have ya, I've been shopping around for a stout front bumper for it and not had any luck. I can make one if I have to any body have any good design ideas? Pics?
Ya good luck with that finding one for a reasonable price. I've been looking for awhile and it seems unless you build it yourself your gonna pay $700 or more for $200 of steel.
Well I'm new to modifying trucks. What would I NEED? Best I can figure Block in the rear and shocks and coil springs for the front? or add a leaf? I feel like I am continually asking the same stupid question but I'm trying to learn so bare with me.
Thanks for everyones help so far
Brandon
No matter how you lift wheel end of the TTB, you will have to do something about the pivot points as well. if you have lifted your truck's front end up in the air by the engine crossmember, you'd know how the front wheels drop down and if you look at the truck from the front they sit like this: \-o-/ Well this is just what will happen if you put lift springs or add-a-leafs or anything else, and do not move the pivots down to match.
That's a good idea. Take a jack and lift up the truck from the large front crossmember in the center about 4 or 6 inches, and you will get an idea of what's going to happen. If you search around for the lift kits, some of them may have pictures, and you will see the drop down brackets.
i have lifted my 85 f250....i have 4 inch blocks in rear plus an add a leaf...the front extra leaf plus a drop down arm....i think its much easier to just get new cab mounts and do a body lift.... you will need new u bolts, new shocks, shims, for driveshaft ,new u bolts for front, also and the drop arm ...its fun to do but a hassel and you may even need a custom driveshaft...if you have coils in the front the front is a little easier....save yourself time and money add a leaf and body lift....for front bumper ideas check out bronco graveyard....hope this helps
