Extra long U bolts

I have an 85 f250 leafs front and rear. I'm planning on putting a 4" block lift all the way around. Does any body know where I can pick up some big ol U bolts?

If you don't have a solid axle that would throw the front end all out of whack. As for longer U bolts, find a shop that does custom springs and get some there, they can custom build them that way and it is usually cheaper.

they say you can't use blocks on the front.i think it has something to due with latteral forces or somthing like that.plus with the ttb suspension your pivot points need to be lowered as well or your front tires will sit \ / like this veiwing from the front.

The problem with putting blocks on the front axle is when you turn the latteral force on the axle will force the block out. IE the lift block can get spit out, leaving you in a very dangerous situation. DO NOT DO THIS!!

how can they get away with it on big trucks.the kenworths at the company i work at have 12" lift blocks between the axle and spring.these are rig moving trucks, tandem steering axle's. i'll get pic's as soon as i'm back to work.

Do not put lift blocks under the front axle ever.

As said, you cannot do this with TTB anyway. You will never be able to get the camber right, and you will end up with crappy steering and eating front tires.

Bottom line is there is NO cheap lift kit for TTB.

By rig moving trucks I'm guessing the massive size trucks not designed to take corners at 65 like your pickup? My Peterbuilt I drive at work (a 379) dosen't have lift blocks because I need the stability in the corners at speed.

HUH! well then idk, maybe it has to do with the sheer size of the components. Like I can bend a paper clip but not steel re-bar. *shrugs shoulders*

All I know is it's a really bad idea on our trucks and I've seen a few accidents because of them. "Towman"JBO ya I drive a wrecker and a tractor trailer.

It's not legal in my state to put blocks in the front. It won't pass inspection. Technically blocks in the back are not legal either, but they seem to let that go most of the time. The government does have to protect us from ourselves, more and more.

Damn it boy

Here I was thinking I was a genius. With a $60 3" suspension lift. Just improvising here but what if you took a pair of leaf springs from the rear and found a way to mount them in the front? Or am I missing something?

You still need to drop the TTB bracets too.

A lot of people run 52" Chevy rear springs up front along with a SAS for articulation.

Like I said before: There is NO cheap way to lift a TTB.........

Thanks for everyones help so far
Brandon

Oh and while I have ya, I've been shopping around for a stout front bumper for it and not had any luck. I can make one if I have to any body have any good design ideas? Pics?
