2004 F150 Hitch ?

My Factory Hitch has two holes for the Receiver. Which hole are you suppose to use,or does it even matter? Thanks

depends on your hitch length and the hole placement on it

use whichever one that gives you the proper length. doesn't really matter

I use the first one, second one is harder to get the pin in/out of. I also clip my brake-away cable on the pin clip and if I use the second hole I don't have enough room to clip it on it.

My draw tite hitch on my 04 has 2. A small one that the pin dosent fit in and the larger one that accepts the pin. I found out that the smaller hole is for an "anti rattle" hitch pin sold by draw tite. I saw a pic of it on their website, maybe other manufacturers are doing that also.

??????? My original hitch had 2 holes. It cracked and failed. The dealership replaced it under warranty. The new hitch only has 1 hole. I had never seen a hitch with 2 holes until I bought my 04. All the others have only had 1. My original one cracked in 2 places.

I have a 2004 f150 xlt. My factory hitch rusted out and when I went to hook my camper up to the hitch it went to the ground. I took my truck to get a new hitch and the guys said they could not put a aftermarket hitch on because the hitch is attached to the bumper. I called the dealer and they want 700 to put another one on. I find aftermarket hitches online but I cant get it put on ????????
