Here's the one we use in our '16 F350, it's a Hensley TS3 air ride hitch with their adapter under it. Depending on the hitch you may need to buy the adapter for the Ford underbed puck system. That way you can use any hitch you want.
I bought a Ford branded Reese 18k from the dealer at cost and it is covered by the vehicle warranty. They do not repair the hitches, only replace them if you have a problem under the warranty. I negotiated the deal with the salesman and dealership after I took delivery. They make a lot of profit on the trucks and didn't mind the handling the purchase- it didn't cost them anything. BTW, the hitch works great!
Ok, so I've ordered my 2017 F350 SRW SWB w/ the 5th wheel prep. Now I'm seeing that the hitch is only for 8' beds. Why is that, because of it not being a slider?

Reason: clarificaiton
Most likely, there are other options that will work. You may need to buy an adapter that uses the factory puck system but you can use any standard hitch, slider if need be to work with your short bed. Reese and Hensley make them. Hers the Hensley adapter I use in my '16 F350.

I believe that the Ford Accessories hitch (re-stickered Reese Elite) is a non-slider, which is why they say it is only for the LB trucks. Reese, B&W, and others make slider hitches that are made to use the Ford Prep package and will drop right in without any additional adapters.
Mess?? I'll bet you an Anderson doesn't ride as nice as an air bag hitch. I had an old style hitch, once I got the Hensley air bag unit I was totally sold on this type of hitch....never go back.
Yea they cost more but when you spend $40, 50, 60 on up for a nice 5th wheel you better not skimp on the hitch and how it will make your traveling nice or uncomfortable. To each his own.....
My first impression of the trailer saver is it's a solution looking for a problem. Then I realized just because my 3/4 ton and 10k lb 5th wheel ride smooth doesn't mean that everyone's rig is smooth. Perhaps differences in truck suspension, 5th wheel balance, etc causes differences in ride quality.
