Code PO601
This seems to be an up and coming common problem among trucks and SUV's. I have had several customers in the past 2 years with this code occurring. And my 06 F150 has recently acquired the PO601
I will pass this on to everyone. Hope it helps....................
PO601 is an internal problem in the ECM.It does not effect the operation of the vehicle in any way outside of the check engine light staying on.
The only fix is to replace the ECM..........
BUT if you know someone who has access to updates and programing of the ECM such as a Tech at your local ford dealer, the ECM can be programed to ignore this code thus turning the check engine light off.
As I said it does not effect the operation vehicle in anyway. Cheaper to have the ECM ignore the code then to replace it.If you must replace the ECM I would recommend getting one from Ford than from your local parts store.
