While driving, I put quite a bit of gas into acceleration and it suddenly started slipping and causing lots of vibrations. I let off the gas a bit and tried to put more into it to keep accelerating, but it would just shake and vibrate causing me to go no faster than around 60mph. Next thing i know, the yellow check engine light started flashing. I pulled over for a bit and it stopped flashing. I have a hunch the O2 sensor might either be going out, or is dirty. I've noticed slipping for quite some time whenever you get onto it while accelerating. I never thought much of it until now. If there are any other options as to what the problem may be, throw em' at me. Thanks.
Sounds like you have a miss or two, good chance it's a COP problem, so take to an auto parts store like Advanced Auto or Auto Zone and have them read the codes, since the check engine like came on I'm sure a code will be stored. The code will tell you if it's a miss or something else and if were an O2 sensor the CEL would have stayed on.
be careful with the a/m stores reading your codes. i had them read one in my grand prix when i had it, and they said the code they gave me was trans related. they then cleared the code. i researched the code, and it seemed to be honda related. i kept driving, and a few days later it came back on. had a tech at work(ford) scan it. defective rear o2 sensor. he said they didnt read the pcm right, and just gave me the code for the last vehicle they scanned, conveniently clearing the code afterwards.
i agree that its' "probably a coil" but dont always rely on young kids with new electronic toys!

Must have been the first time he or she used a scan tool, but I have never had this problem and now most of the store will not clear the codes that's why I went and purchased my own.
