I have a 2001 F250 PSD 4x4 CC, It is black with rail dust in the finish, I was told that a acid wash was what I needed, does the acid wash take any of the finish off, and if so does ford re-aply what was taken off, I ask you this question because I do nt have the time to fight ford and the dealer on this, with all that is going on in the middle east and that I am in the marines I am on duty most of the time. I would love to keep this truck for ten years if not more. I change the oil about every 3000, I say about because I usualy change it about every 2800 because my luck at 3000 miles on the dot i would not have time so when i have time i use it. It has about 10,000 on it and it is about 2.5 mo. old. I drive it every where, I rather drive it than the old GOV. vans. I am going to have the auto filter and fluid changed and then I am going to change the antifreez and make sure it has the right amount of attive in it. Well to make a ling story short i am going to change every fluid now, the oil every 3,000 and the rest every 10,000, but will it be a waste of money if the motor and trany work great and they leave the body on the side of the road somewhere. My truck stickers at 40,000, my dad bought a moduar home in 1990 for less, should I not want more quality from Ford. I realy have no Idea what is the best thing to do, Please if you could help it would be great, thanks for any help you can give. Oh this site is great, it seems like I learn something every time I log in. well I guess till next time.
Since its only a year old, I'd insist Ford fix the paint job. I don't repair ANYTHING on any of my trucks under warranty. I really don't know much about paint except that I pay an expert to handle it (it really is a field all its own).
