Centrifuge & Bypass oil filtration questions
I am lead to believe that cleanliness of engine oil is a very large determinant of diesel engine life? Generations of Lobster Fishers downunder who wear out diesel engines about every 5000 hours of operation, have figured out that the old fiat diesel engine centrifugal oil spinner filters helped extend their engine rebuilds out to near on 10,000 hours rather than 5000 hours!
I would love to treat my 2004 F250 7.3 PSD (60,000 miles) to a spinna filter such as those at this link! http://www.enginecare.com.au/index.htm
I would also dearly love to run a Frantz 3 Micron TP element bypass filter unit as well!
I did some research here - and see that it is recommended to run them only with a 30 PSI Checkvalve installed in the line, so they don't rob the engine of oil pressure flow / volume at idle revs when oil pressure may be lower - especially if the oil pumps worn over time!
Is there any sort of aftermarket export manifold kit for the 7.3 PSD's - that allows you to run the main OEM element filter, the spinna filter, and the bypass Frantz TP element filter - mounted somewhere inside the hood that allows easy oil changes?
I know a lot of the Marine Cat diesel engine users in the Lobster industry here are moving to exported manifolds for oil filters to make oil changes quicker cleaner and easier...without sliding around in the bilge on your belly like an eel, to get to all the oil filters!
Just wondering if theres a kit out there would let me do this plumbing job on a 7.3 PSD as a DIY project!
Any other known issues about filtering the oil this way?
If I keep to the standard 5000 Miles oil change....will such a system keep my oil squeakey clean / clear yellow like when it was first put in?
I just hate black oil!
Cheers & thanks in advance for any advice / ideas!

Here is a link to the Oilguard website (they are FTE sponsor), they have a great bypass oil filtration system. It is used by many people at FTE with good results and great customer service.
Click on their installation link to see pictures and description of install.
