With 4x4's, they either put a 70's straight axle under them, or a Dana 60 if it's a larger f250-350.

With 4x2's, if you want a streetrod, they put mustang II suspensions, or later model crown vic crossmembers under them.

I converted my 80 f350 from ttb to a dana 60. It was a very simple conversion on my truck. spring perches were same spacing,i just had to add trac bar bracket and sway bar brackets to frame. however if you were converting to a 4wd from 2wd I think finding a donner frame would be less stressful.

I remember a long time ago, fatman fabrications made a mustang II kit. But I looked on their site and can't find it anymore. Maybe you will have better luck searching for it. They do have some universal kits.

I'm replacing mine with a Series III Xj6 Jaguar IFS front end, setup for air bags. Rack and pinion steering is a bonus.

if you look in the 4x4 offroad section in the main forum list there is a sticky with info on the swap i believe there is instruction on how to do the swap also. just click on the sticky and look for "SAS". im currently looking for a donor truck so i can do this when it warms up a lil bit.
