ground cables

was looking under the hood and the ground that goes from the NEG battery terminal to the frame was fried (probably why the truck won't start).

question is....what is the easiest and proper way to replace it. it has a connector in the middle of it.

this might be cryptic but i am new at trying to fix things under the hood

On my 82' I just bought 2 battery cables from the parts store. 1 cable went from the battery to the frame, and the other went from the same spot on the frame to the starter. I used some grease on the frame where they come together and I didn't screw the "connector" back down.

I also replace the positive cable coming from the battery since it also was in pretty bad shape.

I say the total cost was around $15.

all the battery cables are new. put new ones in when i bought it. the wire i need info on is the small gound wire that goes from the neg battery terminal to the frame (at the starter solinoid (spelling???). that is the one that is fried. through discussion i think that it is my stereo that is screwing around that is cause my electrical issues...gonna check that after work
