lowering twin i beam

has anybody out there ever relocated the beam mount higher and cut the coils to lower a twin i beam?

Sounds like it would work, but it also sounds like a lot of fabwork! Why not buy the droped beams?

I've wondered that myself, and have looked at that for some time. I've also wondered why no one really has done it...lol. I think the biggest issue is the lack of beam travel. I think the bump stop would have to be cut or removed, and that may be bad if the truck spent any time on the street. I'm guessing it's a much better choice to get the DJM beams, but relocating the beams would be a cheap answer to getting the front down. I think I'll roll back under my truck and have a look.....got me thinking again....
