Acceleration

I have a 2005 f150 lariat screw. Mods are DIY intake, K&N drop in filter and an aftermarket tuner ( i dont want to use the name of the tuner just yet so I dont get a lot of replies telling me its the brand of the tuner). When its stock acceleration is instant, either from stop or moving. When I install the tuner ( I have had it on all settings but I havent messed with shift points and stuff like that) I get a heck of a lag, about 1.5-2.0 seconds. I know its not a sports car and I dont want it to be one but why would I get the lag with the tuner. Thanks and sorry for the mystery.

Check that the tuner has the latest tune...I got a tuner and had to update the tune before i would work at all with the particular strategy in my truck's ECM...was pretty frustrating until the tune worked...it was worth it in the end...
