Hi everyone. I'm new here. My first post for some reason, can't be viewed, so please ignore. I'm looking at buying either a 2000 F350 SRW CC Long Bed 4x4 V10 130,000 miles, well cared for. Sythetic oil, all service done. OR,.. a 99 F250 CC SB 4x4 V10, 161,000 on truck, 12K on new V10 Long block, bought from a Ford dealer, with a 1 year warranty left. My questionis this. Is it possible that this "new engine", which is probably a reman, could have the "PI" heads that are on the newer V10s? (is it 2000 - 2004 engines?) Or, would it be an exact 1999 model engine, thus 99 HP and Torque specs? I realive that it's a 2V and can not be a 3V engine. Is there a marking on the heads that I can look for? Is there anything else I should look for/ I'm going to look at both trucks this Sat and Sun. Thanks!
If you get under the truck and look toward the rear of the head on the drivers side you will 6.8L cast into the head (above the exhaust manifold I think). If it's a PI head it will have "PI" cast next to the 6.8L. Hope this helps.
Well,......The F350 was very rough. The 250 is in better shape and only 12K on new Ford long block, and $2K cheaper. I'm gonna go with the 99 F250 CC SB 4x4. I'll post some pics after I get it.
Thanks dew the thunder! Hope to have it Wed. or Thurs. Pending OASIS report. It's got a flowmaster with duals and sounds sweet! I'm thinking Banks headers / exhaust back to the flowmaster, a CAI, oh, and a SCT tune!

Thanks Mike. Thanks for taking time to talk with me last week. I know the 99 V10 isn't as powerful as the 00-04, and 05 and up, but I'll be watching your thread on your 99! The 99 I'm getting felt strong, as it should for only having 12K on it. Here's a pic. Not a good one, but I'll post better ones after I get it. The first things I need to do are tires and probably shocks.

No worries....Sweat Ride.... I think you made a good call with the Crew Cab SB... Now get you that COW (condo on wheels aka camper) LOL..
Long time since I've posted. Got a COW, a '99 29 foot prowler, 7300lbs, ish. First trip was to Boone, NC about 3 weeks ago. Was fun. Truck did OK. Love my truck. It's all stock and the stock tune / shift points are garbage!!!!! Heard pinging on hills, 87 oct. Thirsty bugger too, but I expected that. I just brushed up on the dyno thread. So, what do you recommend? It has FMs on it already. I know I'll start with a tune / tuner, someday. Then probably CAI? and y-pipe. Don't care for that flutter sound of the stock on. I see you have a tuner / SB combo, but I don't see a package deal for tuner / intake / exhaust y-pipe.
