Auto enginuity boost reading

I need help with boost readings on AE. I was using the manifold gauge pressure on AE and compairing it to my manual gauge. AE is only showing about 15 psi when my gauge shows about 25-26 psi. The actual map reading is about 13 psi higher because of atmospheric pressure.

I sent an email to Jody and he said it should show the same or real close to my gauge on AE on the manifold gauge pressure PID.

I have tested the wiring to and from the sensor, and I dont have any voltage drops on power, signal, and return side. I installed a new sensor and the new one reads exactly the same. I compaired readings and both sensors seem to be exactly on with eachother.

I was wondering if anyone else has the AE version 7.0 has noticed this.

If nobody has checked this on AE, could someone and post what you find.

I just think I could be losing power because of not getting enough fuel due to lower boost readings.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

In fact, I just checked this on my truck. Manifold guage reading on AE was peak at 16. I have a stock truck no guages. I would assume this is correct. I have ver 5 though, not 7 so I don't know if there could be a problem specific to 7. Since you have an 02, and I have dug up a few problems with the voltage regulator internal to the PCM causing issues, what are your vehicle power and reference voltage readings?

The MAP sensor saturates at about 22 psi so it can never read the 25-26 psi you see on your gauge!

Check the data table in post #1 and the quote in post # 20 here... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...tion-data.html

...and you'll see the boost gauge reads higher than the AE data, so this issue has been noted by others.

"At 25 PSI of boost with a tune other than "stock", the PCM only saw 14 PSI of boost. Switch to "stock" and the PCM sees 17 PSI at an actual 17 PSI."

...and my conjecture...I've concluded that AE is NOT reading the MAP sensor directly, but rather is reporting some PCM modified version of the MAP, and chip tuning is changing something in the PCM that causes the AE reported MAP to be in error.

See post #27...80econ: Same general observation as 60 tow except I ran it up to 26 psiG. Same linear MAP response up to about 14.8 MAP, and all happening quicker.

120race: WTH, same deal except now My ATV is straining at the straps and I ran it to 29psi. MAP never got to 15.

Also see this thread... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...t-results.html

Post # 12... I don't believe that Jody's programming doesn't affect the MAP readings. I personally observe the following when playing with my chip and watching the scanner AND boost gauge:

Stock setting: MAP reading corellates directly with the boost gauge and a maximum reading of 17 PSI is attainable on BOTH readouts simultaneously.

Anything other than "stock": The actual MAP reading does not even hit 1 PSI until my actual MAP (boost gauge) reaches 3.5-4 PSI. This really causes A LOT of lag in the 20T/60T/and especially the 80E because the PCM won't add fuel until it sees MAP pressure (which is REALLY late!!) 120R doesn't seem to care.

Add in the fact that I will NEVER set an overboost code. It's impossible since the pressure readings between the boost gauge and the MAP sensor readings get more "innacurate" the more boost I get. I can hit 25 PSI actual MAP in any tune other than stock. My MAP reading? Well, it's at 13.7-14 PSI.

So I took off the OBA since I'll never need it.
