in my 64 i've got the custom cab lower dash with 6 spots for controls. but i've only got 5 filled, i've got wipers, lights, lighter, choke, and heater control.
so what goes just to the right of the sterring wheel? theres a toggle there now that is not connected to anything.
prolly a blank hole plug. These trim bezels were all punched, as were the dashes with the same number of holes on the lower section for the switches. whenever a certain thing wasnt ordered a stainless hole plug was popped in the hole to cover it and make it look pretty...
You might fit a kill button in the spot. You know for when that SOB that just cut you off on the road and flipped you da bird at the same time needs a little rebuttal.
One of the control positions is for emergency or 4 way flashers if that was ordered or available for your year. Another **** that you will see on larger trucks is a throttle control ****. Even though throttle control was not available on pickups (to my knowledge) the dash panels are the same for many sizes of truck cabs so the hole options are prepunched for all. Steve
The three spots on the left of the steering column are from left to right, Headlights, Wipers and Lighter. The three spots on the right of the column are from left to right, Emergency Flashers (with the indicator light just to the left of this ****), Choke and Heater Fan. Now for your further information, The spot just above the ignition switch is where my windshield washer button is located. There is a spot on the opposite end of the dash (far right) where there is another spot just like the one over the ignition switch. In the case of remote vent controls, these spots are where the vent pulls are located and the washer button is relocated usually near the wiper switch. The above configuration is on my '66 F100 and it is stock. Steve

Most of these trucks did not come with emergency flashers...because thru 1966....it was an optional accessory.
If you had an F350/600, the "Throttle Cable" went into that position.
The heater and cigarette lighter were also optional accessories. If not ordered....the same stainless steel plugs were used to fill the holes.
You could put a cargo light switch in there. Remember that the bezels are the same all the way through 1972, so that opens up your options a little bit.
My 66 F350 has the LH vent above the ignition (no rh vent though!?) lights, wipers, lighter, choke, throttle, and heater below the I/P. Located on the I/P is a "blink marker light" momentary switch and an emergency flasher. On a panel below the dash is Cargo light, flasher light (beacon) and back up lights.

One of my 65's is exactly the same! Emergency 4-way lights is missing and plugged on the other!
