Ford vented the crank case into your intake. Basically by doing the mod you reroute the crank case ventilation either to the atmosphere or into a catch can. It should clear up any oily residue that can be pretty much all over your engine.

I have not heard of any benefits from this mod besides the fact that it makes the truck smells bad. I suppose it could make the intake air flow better because you would be able remove everything between the filter and the turbo and put in one solid piece of tubing. I have been thinking of doing the mod myself but I have not heard of any benefits that would make it worth it. it is kind of up to you.

You probably won't have any more oil saturated intercooler boots.

The benefit is the oily, nasty, CC gases don't get pulled though the turbo, compressed & pushed through the intake system, making your I/C boots oily, so they can slip off and/or leak oil all over your engine.

3" long, 4" OD piece of exhaust pipe, 5/8ths elbow, 5/8th piece of heater hose long enough to get to wherever you want to run it, and a couple of hose clamps.

Oh, if you use the elbow that's on it now, you can just get a 5/8ths hose coupler instead of an elbow. I just remembered that's what I did...

Or you can get ahold of me if you don't want to construct your own kit and also don't want it to cost you anymore than you would spend to do it yourself.
